# Makkah or Madinah First for Umrah from the UK?
Planning Umrah from the UK? One common question is whether to visit **Makkah or Madinah first**. Both options can work, depending on your flights, trip length, family needs, and travel plans.
Starting in Makkah allows you to perform Umrah earlier in your journey. Starting in Madinah gives you time to settle before travelling towards Makkah and entering Ihram at the appropriate Miqat.
For a short Umrah trip, consider your flight schedule, hotel location, transport, and number of nights in each city before booking.
