BIS FMCS stands for Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme, introduced by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This scheme allows foreign manufacturers to obtain a BIS license for products that fall under mandatory certification in India.
Under the BIS FMCS Scheme, the manufacturer must prove that their products conform to Indian Standards (IS). The certification is granted directly to the foreign manufacturing unit, not to importers or distributors.
