Diablo 4 Season 9: Shadowblight Necromancer Build Guide
Diablo 4 Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim, brings with Diablo 4 Items it a renewed focus on elemental and damage-over-time builds thanks to the introduction of Horadric Spells, Runes, new Diablo 4 Items, and Mercenaries. One of the strongest contenders this season is the Shadowblight Necromancer - a build focused on overwhelming enemies with Shadow Damage over time. With strong crowd control, no hard Unique requirements, and high synergy with Horadric tools, it's one of the most accessible yet devastating endgame builds available.
How Shadowblight Necromancer Works in Season 9
At its core, this build revolves around the Shadowblight Key Passive, which causes your Shadow Damage to apply Shadowblight for 2 seconds. Every 8th instance of Shadow Damage against an afflicted enemy deals +200% damage, with scaling based on your Shadow and Corrupting Damage bonuses, up to +450%.
Your main goal? Flood the battlefield with constant Shadow Damage.
Key Damage Sources:
Blight - especially with Ebonpiercer to increase coverage.
Corpse Explosion (Blighted) - adds a lingering DoT on the field.
Soulrift - fast-casting Shadow beam with Corrupting synergy.
Astral Pillar + Nebulous Extract - converts utility to heavy AoE Shadow pressure.
The result is a persistent, stacking damage field that procs Shadowblight repeatedly, shredding both packs and bosses.
