Since creating its first three-axis astronomical tourbillon Astronomia watch in 2014, Jacob & Co. has forged a close connection with the cosmos, allowing the Earth's rotation, revolution, planetary motion, and more to be clearly seen on a single dial. Last year, the brand created its most transparent Astronomia timepiece, named Flawless. Its fully transparent sapphire crystal case and lugs offer a 360-degree view of the entire cosmos, allowing everyone to see through the universe.

Flawless means flawless, and in diamond clarity grading, Flawless (FL) means that under 100x magnification, the diamond has no inclusions or external flaws. Only the highest-quality diamonds have the opportunity to achieve this grade. Jacob & Co., a brand that started with jewelry, frequently incorporates diamond elements into its watch designs. Last year, the brand created the Astronomia interstellar watch, named Flawless, with a full sapphire crystal case. While this wasn't the brand's first time, the fact that the dial and lugs were completely transparent was certainly a first, making this crystal-clear masterpiece a one-of-a-kind piece.
Since the creation of the first Astronomia watch in 2014, the brand has consistently favored using large sapphire crystals with minimal gold supports for the case, allowing the wearer to clearly see the movement of the stars. To achieve true "flawlessness," the brand spent considerable time developing a completely transparent case, while also refining the movement to make it appear as if it's floating in mid-air, showcasing the magical rotation of the stars. To connect the movement to the crystal case, the brand requires 15 additional steps to create the central part of the case, taking approximately 326 hours. The connection between the case back and the winding and adjusting disc also requires 297 hours, plus the 288 hours spent creating the slightly domed crystal. This crystal case is truly a masterpiece of craftsmanship.

Previous Astronomia models have emphasized a three-axis tourbillon, along with a rotating hour and minute disc, a blue globe, and a 1-carat Jacob-Cut diamond, showcasing the universe's movement within the watch. The dial, featuring a counter-clockwise rotating star chart or a jeweled disc, further enriches the timepiece. However, with the dial now made of equally transparent sapphire crystal, and the lugs, case, and crystal all being transparent, the entire JCAM16 manual-winding movement, including all its components and gears, is clearly visible. The three-axis tourbillon rotates at 60-second and 2.5-minute intervals, while the entire movement revolves around the dial at 10-minute intervals. A single Jacob-Cut diamond and a blue globe rotate at 30-second intervals, creating a ethereal universe through the interplay of the starry sky and the pristine transparent case. Last year's version featured a 2.88-carat diamond set in the center of the movement; this year, the brand has replaced it with a 2.2-carat yellow sapphire, again making it a one-of-a-kind piece.
The constantly rotating tourbillon has two frames, one completing a revolution every 60 seconds and the other every 2.5 minutes. The case is 25.45mm thick and transparent from all angles.
In addition to the brand name and watch name engraved on the case back, there is also a brushed engraved brand logo at the 6 o'clock position.
