Exploring the Norikura Skyline area in Forza Horizon 6 is one of the most rewarding parts of the map, especially for players trying to hit 100% road discovery. The mountain region looks beautiful, but it is also one of the most frustrating places to complete because of the steep elevation changes, overlapping roads, and tiny hidden paths scattered around the alpine passes.
A lot of players end up stuck at 99% road completion because the final missing roads are usually hidden somewhere around Norikura Skyline. Some road pieces look fully discovered on the map even when they are not. There is also a visual issue where completed and undiscovered roads can blend together, especially in snowy or rocky areas.
The good news is that there are a few reliable ways to find those hidden segments without driving randomly for hours.
Why the Norikura Area Is So Difficult
The Norikura Skyline region is built around steep mountain roads, layered switchbacks, tunnels, snow corridors, and narrow gravel trails. Because of the vertical map design, roads often overlap each other visually.
Sometimes a road on the upper mountain pass covers a hidden dirt trail underneath it on the map screen. Other times, a tiny section at the end of a gravel road never registers unless you physically touch the very end of it.
This becomes even harder when snow, shadows, and bright terrain colors make undiscovered roads difficult to notice.
The Best Trick for Finding Hidden Roads
The fastest method is the map hover trick.
Open the world map and zoom in closely around the Norikura Skyline region. Slowly move your cursor across roads while watching the menu prompts at the bottom of the screen.
If the “Fast Travel” option suddenly disappears, flickers, or changes while hovering over a road, that usually means the game still considers that segment undiscovered.
This works especially well on tiny road fragments that visually appear completed.
Many players have found their final missing roads this way without needing to search the entire map again.
Remove Map Clutter First
Before searching seriously, disable all unnecessary map icons.
Turn off:
- Race markers
- Drift zones
- Speed traps
- PR stunts
- Landmarks
- Festival icons
With a clean map, the road colors become much easier to inspect. Small gray slivers hidden behind icons suddenly become visible.
This is especially important around the dense mountain switchbacks near Norikura.
Check Every Dirt Road Carefully
The Norikura Skyline region has several gravel roads and dead-end mountain trails that are easy to miss.
The most common problem is the final few meters at the very end of these roads. Even if 99% of the trail is orange, a tiny unfinished tip can remain gray.
Drive directly into every dead end until the road completion animation appears.
Do not assume the road counted just because most of it changed color.
Watch for Hidden Elevation Layers
One thing that makes the Japanese Alps area unique is how vertical it feels.
Roads overlap constantly:
- Tunnel entrances below mountain highways
- Lower switchbacks beneath upper cliff roads
- Hidden connectors between snow paths
- Tiny pull-off areas beside scenic overlooks
Drive slowly through the mountain passes while watching the minimap closely. Sometimes a hidden gray outline briefly appears underneath your current route.
If you notice overlapping roads, check both layers separately.
Use Races to Force Route Discovery
One surprisingly effective method is entering races located in the Norikura region.
The Norikura Descent Street Race is especially useful because the route winds through multiple mountain sections and hidden corners. Following the race line can naturally push your car across roads you may have skipped during free roam.
Even if you already completed the race before, replaying it can still help uncover missed road pieces.
Search Around the Snow Corridor
The Snow Corridor, also known as Yuki no Otani, is another major trouble spot.
This high-altitude snowy area contains:
- Small roadside pull-offs
- Hidden parking sections
- Tiny dead-end snow paths
- Narrow road shoulders beside ice walls
Because the environment is bright white, unfinished roads blend into the terrain very easily.
Drive slowly along the edges of the corridor and physically enter every side area, even if it looks insignificant.
Advice for 100% Completion
If you are stuck at 670 out of 671 roads discovered, chances are the final road is somewhere around Norikura Skyline.
The best approach is patience:
- Zoom in fully on the map
- Search road endings carefully
- Check overlapping elevations
- Replay mountain races
- Drive every dead end completely
- Use the Fast Travel flicker trick
Eventually you will spot the missing segment.
For many players, the final hidden road ends up being only a few meters long, tucked beside a snowy cliff or hidden at the end of a gravel trail deep in the Norikura mountains.
