Open letter to Mike LaFleur…

Hi Mike....By now, you’ve probably asked yourself the same question as the three Cardinal head coaches fired in the last eight years. “How did I get here?” It’s OK; one day you’ll look back on this dumpster fire as part of your head-coaching journey. I haven’t given up on you; it’s far too soon, but the problem is you have an owner with a track record of losing. Essentially y0ur building a sandcastle at high tide.

The art of finding(or not) a NFL head coach, Koa Peat comes home, more…

No white smoke yet from the owner’s office of YOUR Arizona Cardinals. Over the last ten years, the owner has a record of 61 wins, 102 losses, and 2 ties. Should we be surprised that the NFL head coach firing-and-hiring cycle has almost come and gone, and our heroes on the gridiron are still looking for their fourth head coach in eight years? But here’s a little advance on what the owner will say once they finally find the next warm body.

Hot Seat for Hazen, Booker the author, Future for Fitz…

IF the Diamondbacks don’t make the postseason, the General Manager is going to be the one to blame. In the here and now, the Major League trade deadline went over in Arizona like a lead balloon. With 50 games remaining, Mike Hazen did next to nothing to improve a team that has fought hard on the field, only to be left with obvious holes. The only conclusion is that the GM was outplayed on deadline day.

Baylor Beats ASU 55-19 in Big 12 Home Opener

It could have been rust from the bye week. It could have been a prolonged hangover from international travel. Whatever it was Arizona State was caught on their heels when the clock started ticking against Baylor on Saturday that resulted in a 55-19 loss.
The defense, known for its sure tackling under Brian Ward, gave the Bears chances for extra yards time and again. The unit that is typically rock solid was porous on Saturday. When on the verge of shutting down drives, the Arizona State couldn’t get off the field.

Three Dots…Love and Beck for MY Cardinals…

MY Cardinals are at least making an effort to give us something to talk about besides tanking for Arch Manning. It’s hard not to like the pick at running back, Jeremiyah Love, but was running back truly the biggest need, or was it the safe “best athlete available” line we hear every year when a player is taken at a position that doesn’t need immediate attention? Love is easy on the eyes. But will he be durable enough with an offensive line in front of him that played on roller skates last season?
